Rhodolite
(ROAD-oh-lite), an intermediate garnet in between almandite and and pyrope, is a lovely gemstone often resembling such fine
corundum as violetish rubies or a plum sapphires. Its color range tends to be pale rose, red to purple. It is usually lighter
and more transparent than either almandite or pyrope garnets. The name derives from two Greek words meaning "rose" and"stone".
