THE GRADING OF PEARL NECKLACES
Mitsuko believes that cultured or natural pearls should be graded with the same precision as diamonds are graded. But,
as of now, no pearl grading system has been adopted worldwide. However, pearl trade organizations along with gem reseach and
training laboratories such as the Gemological Institute of America are co-operating to develop a common evaluation system
that will serve both the pearl trade and the public. We support such development of an accurate, globally-recognized evaluation
system.
Meanwhile, Mitsuko has developed her own pearl evaluation system based on her many years experience as well as her love for
pearls. She has set her standards high.
